What shutters cost in Maitland, and how the pricing works

The measure is where the real variables get pinned down, and the quote is the price, not an estimate that grows later.
What moves a quote up or down
- Glass area. The biggest driver by far; a stacker door is simply more made object than a laundry window.
- Material. PVC, basswood timber and aluminium sit at different points; exterior-grade aluminium carries its weather specification with it.
- Configuration. Hinged panels are the base case; bi-fold and sliding tracks add hardware and fitting time.
- Shape and age. Arches, rakes and out-of-square period reveals take more making and more care; they are quoted as what they are.
- Tilt and extras. Hidden tilt, mid-rails and colour matching move a quote modestly, and each is chosen per window, not imposed per house.
Reading other people's numbers
You will meet per-window and per-square-metre figures around the web. Treat them as conversation starters, not prices: they cannot see your reveals, your spans, or the difference between a square new opening in Chisholm and a settled Victorian one in Lorn. Any figure that arrives before a measure is marketing; the number that matters is the one written against your actual windows, and that one is free to get.
